You want to take advantage of the latest deals for sales. We have selected for you the Google Pixel 7a, Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, Samsung Galaxy A54, Apple iPhone 14, and Honor Magic5 Lite smartphones. But among these, which one is really made for you? Here are their main technical characteristics compared to help you see more clearly.

In terms of design, each smartphone has unique features, especially regarding the arrangement of the camera sensors. The Google Pixel 7a, with its plastic frame, offers a clean back where the sensors are integrated into a side bar that occupies the entire width of the device. Its colors, green, gray or charcoal, offer a sober palette. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, on the other hand, has a more classic aesthetic with a square panel in the upper left corner to accommodate the camera sensors. It is available in black, white, and blue. The Samsung Galaxy A54 5G, with its plastic chassis, offers a brighter range of colors, including silver, graphite, lavender, and lime, while integrating its sensors in an extremely minimalist way at the back. The iPhone 14, true to Apple’s tradition, has a clean design with a variety of colors ranging from black to yellow, and a camera arrangement that combines elegance and functionality. Finally, the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G stands out with its back featuring a large circle to integrate the camera sensors. It is offered in black or green.
The dimensions of these devices vary considerably, from the most compact, the iPhone 14, with dimensions of 146.6 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm, to the largest, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G, measuring 162.9 x 76 x 8.98 mm. The weight also follows this trend, with the iPhone 14 being the lightest at 172 grams, while the Xiaomi is the heaviest at 210 grams. These differences highlight the importance of choosing according to personal preference for size and weight, directly influencing the user experience on a daily basis. The Honor Magic5 Lite 5G stands out with a thickness of only 7.9 mm, but it is the iPhone 14 that is the thinnest in this comparison with a thickness of 7.8 mm. The Pixel 7a is the thickest with a profile of 9 mm.

In terms of battery, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G and the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G stand out with capacities of 5000 mAh and 5100 mAh respectively, promising superior autonomy. The Google Pixel 7a and the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G follow with 4400 mAh and 5000 mAh. The iPhone 14, however, offers the lowest capacity at 3279 mAh. The charging speed also varies, with Xiaomi offering an impressive fast charge of 120 watts, contrasting with the 20 watts of the Google Pixel 7a and the iPhone 14. Only the iPhone 14 offers a wireless charging option, which is practical for daily use.

Which one is the most efficient and which one is the best screen?

In terms of performance, each smartphone has a distinct processor, from the Tensor G2 for the Google Pixel 7a to the powerful Apple A15 for the iPhone 14. The amount of RAM is similar for most, except for the iPhone 14 and the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G which have only 6 GB. In terms of storage, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G stands out with 256 GB, while the Google Pixel 7a and the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G offer 128 GB without possible extension. Only the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G allows the addition of a micro SD card, offering greater flexibility in terms of storage.

The display quality is also a crucial factor, with notable differences between the AMOLED screens of the compared models. The screen size varies from 6.1 inches for the Google Pixel 7a and the iPhone 14 to 6.67 inches for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G and the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G. The Galaxy A54 is in the middle with a 6.4-inch screen. The maximum refresh rate reaches 120 Hz for Xiaomi, Samsung, and Honor, offering a smooth visual experience, while the iPhone 14 remains at 60 Hz. The Google Pixel 7a has an average frequency of 90 Hz. Brightness and screen protection, with Corning Gorilla Glass on some models, are also criteria to consider. Note that the iPhone 14 and the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus are equipped with a screen compatible with the Dolby Vision video format offered on certain streaming platforms.

What configurations for photos and what connectivity?

Regarding photography, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus 5G stands out with its main sensor of 200 megapixels, but it is not the one that will offer the most beautiful shots. Indeed, this distinction goes to the iPhone 14 followed very closely by the Google Pixel 7a. Then, there is the Xiaomi, the Honor Magic5 Lite 5G with its 64 megapixels, and then the Samsung Galaxy A54 5G. The latter, although versatile, offers correct shots but here surpassed by the competition. However, it presents excellent results for selfies and video calls with its 32-megapixel front sensor compared to a 16-megapixel module installed in the front of the Magic5 Lite and Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus, while the iPhone 14 makes do with a 12-megapixel sensor and the Pixel 7a with a 10.8-megapixel lens.

Connectivity is another crucial aspect, with all models supporting 5G and offering various versions of Wi-Fi. In this area, it is the Pixel 7a that dominates the debates with its Wi-Fi 6E compatibility compared to Wi-Fi 6, less efficient for Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi mobiles, while the Magic5 Lite makes do with Wi-Fi 5. They are all compatible with NFC technology and have Bluetooth. Only the Xiaomi mobile has an audio jack and an infrared transmitter, which allows it to be turned into a universal remote control. On the other hand, it has a fingerprint reader on the profile while on the others, it is positioned under the screen, except the iPhone 14 which does not have one. The waterproof certification also differs, ranging from IP53 for Xiaomi and Honor to IP68 for the iPhone 14, the Pixel 7a, and the Samsung Galaxy A54 indicating total resistance to water as well as dust.
