An actor venturing into the development of video games? Really? Well, that’s what’s behind Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, a metroidvania like no other that promises to be as emotional as the mastodon Ori.

Forward

A few days ago, we were able to participate in a round table with Abubakar Salim, the creator of Tales of Kenzera: ZAU, and founder of Surgent Studios, as well as play the game demo a little ahead of time. This demo will be available to everyone during the Steam Next Fest from February 5 to 12.

A game like you’ve never seen before

“Immerse, illuminate, and inspire. These three principles guide us in our adventure to create captivating stories that make you think differently and transform the vision you have of the world.” This philosophy is that of a studio whose existence you may not be aware of: Surgent Studios. This studio was founded in 2019 by the actor Abubakar Salim, whom we recently saw in NapolĂ©on and whom we will see again in the second season of House of the Dragon. But then, what does this have to do with video games? Surgent Studios has so far released filmed productions, not games. However, the studio’s goal is to allow unique stories to shine “in the medium and platform that best suits them,” and it is the video game that has been chosen to tell the very personal story of Abubakar Salim with the studio’s first game: Tales of Kenzera: ZAU.

and so on…
