Frame, connectors, screen of Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17ALC6 (82KV00BTFR)

The relatively thin and light Arctic Gray oversized design gives it a sleek and understated look.

This versatile laptop has good connectivity that rivals that of (much) more expensive models thanks to USB-C, the practical HDMI video output for easy connection to a TV or monitor, for example, the 6-ax Wi-Fi wireless units and Bluetooth 5.2 for remote connections and communications, the audio port or 2 USB compatible with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0, USB 3.0 which guarantees transfers up to 10 times faster than in USB 2.0 if you connect a USB 3.0 device.

Thanks to its anti-reflective treatment, the screen is easier to read than a glossy panel in a bright environment (e.g. outdoors) and less tiring on the eyes for a long time.
In addition, its colorimetry is more faithful than average, but not quite what a high-end IPS panel obviously provides.
The screen also has a 16:9 aspect ratio that lends itself well to video playback. It comes with a 1600×900 definition that displays larger elements than the more expensive Full HD, which is preferred by some with vision problems.

Performance, autonomy of Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17ALC6 (82KV00BTFR)

The Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17ALC6 (82KV00BTFR) is aimed at those who wish to equip themselves with a relatively thin and light 17-inch laptop for everyday flexible use.

It stands out for its good amount of RAM of 12 GB above average, which is very worthwhile for multitasking. It calmly supports the processor, a low-power AMD Ryzen 5 5500U Hexa Core Lucienne housing the Radeon Vega 7 graphics unit.

This provides good performance in everyday use such as office automation and internet browsing. But also to view photos and videos and play small games.

On the storage side, Lenovo provides this laptop with 2 slots: 1 in 2.5-inch format, available to add a hard drive or SSD if necessary, which is important for the expandability of the configuration. But also 1 in M.2 format in which a 256 GB SSD has been placed.

This capacity, less than half that of standard hard drives, makes it possible to install and store light software/files and/or in small numbers. Besides adding internal storage, you can also just use an external drive if you need more capacity. We will preferably choose a USB 3.0/USB-C device to take advantage of fast transfers.

However, an SSD offers many undeniable advantages compared to a hard disk: greater robustness, lower energy consumption, quiet operation or even greater speed.

On a daily basis, thanks to the SSD, we benefit from faster software launches, processing and start/stops than with a hard drive, or even faster access to online game cards.
In general, responsiveness and fluidity are much better with an SSD than with a hard drive.

As for the autonomy of this relatively thin and light computer for 17 inches, it is about 6 hours with a battery in light use.
Some people looking for a comfortable large-sized student laptop that doesn't need long battery life might be interested.
