Is class selection irreversible in Dragon's Dogma 2?

Before we introduce you to the different starting classes in Dragon's Dogma II, you should know this your choice is not final. Once you reach Melve or Vermund's capital, Vernworth, you'll be free to change course! All you have to do is go to the Melve Inn (located in the center of the village) or the Vernworth Class Guild (located in the lower left of the Great Stone of Vermund after the fountain in the Merchant District) to return. your decision.

You will then be given the choice between the same classes as those available when creating your character, namely: Mage, Warrior, Thief and Archer.

Therefore, you can change class or shirt, regardless of your previous choice.. Indeed, you can try and play all the categories of your choice without contraindication. When you start in a class, the class's guildmaster will provide you with the basic equipment for the chosen class, so you don't need to go to the blacksmith or gunsmith beforehand to make an outfit.

Depending on how you explore the world, you'll be able to unlock new classes, such as Champion, Mage, Illusionist, Conqueror, Archer-Mage or even Warrior-Mage. However, you will need to find the right people to learn how to master these additional classes!

The Mage class in Dragon's Dogma 2

Mage is a hybrid class that combines white magic and elemental magic. You can choose between support spells and some elemental offensive spells. This is a class played well away from melee, with shorter casting time and less damage outside of big spells.

With this class, you can use elemental boost spells, barriers, and healing zones to protect your allies, but also cast large ice, lightning, or even fire spells at opponents. As you level up, you'll have a lot more support spells than offensive spells.

However, we advise you to use this category for your main pawn. The latter will be able to take care of healing and protection spells without you having to worry about it. That way, you can stay in the heat of the action and not just be a spectator of your pawns' prowess.

If you want to have a spell class that's a little more damage focused, we recommend Mage or Illusionist. However, you will only have access to these classes later in your adventure.

The Warrior class in Dragon's Dogma 2

Warrior, always equipped with his shield, is a melee fighter who combines the protection of his allies, but also the elimination of his opponents.. Unlike the Mage or Archer, the Warrior plays in the front line to secure the tank role.

The Warrior poses a great threat to his opponents. it will naturally attract them thanks to a passive and a skill. Although the Warrior has a lot of offensive skills, he has very few defensive skills, so you will undoubtedly need to place a Mage on his side to be able to survive against his opponents.

If you want to focus on damage rather than protecting your allies, we advise you to go for Champion or Knight-Mage. But like the Mage or Warlock, you'll have to wait to unlock these classes.

The Archer class in Dragon's Dogma 2

Quite simply a ranged damage class. Here, no blunt or sharp weapons, but only your bow and arrows. The Archer class offers multiple spells to deal damage from a distance, whether it's accurate single arrow shots or multiple shots. Sagittarius, unlike the Warrior, has a lot of freedom of movement to get out of the most complicated situations. However, without a Warrior tank, your adventure as an Archer will be anything but smooth sailing.

Although there is automatic fire which makes combat much easier, thisThis class sometimes requires a lot of skill, especially on elite monsters like Ogres, Cyclops or Minotaurs.. Indeed, the aiming mode requires a lot of patience and, above all, excellent vision to always hit the mark in the critical areas of your opponents.

If you notice that your arrows aren't doing enough damage to different types of monsters and that's hindering your progress, why not go with the Archer-Mage class? Your arrows will be imbued with elemental magical power that will help you annihilate your opponents. But as you can imagine… This class can only be unlocked later in your adventure!

The thief class in Dragon's Dogma 2

Thief is good at stealth and fast movement. It can easily take down opponents with a critical hit, free yourself from sticky situations, or unleash a series of deadly strikes to take out opponents quickly. And, the icing on the cake, the Thief can also deal elemental damage (Fire) using one of his abilities.

However, although the Thief is a wild character, he remains feverish nonetheless. Equipped with simple leather armor, he will stagger with every enemy hit. So you'll need to show great game vision to find the right moment to attack, but above all know when to escape.

To play Thief with complete peace of mind, it is recommended to have a Mage specialized in support in your team, as well as a Warrior to engage opponents. The thief must use discretion and under no circumstances should he be a decoy!
