Slow growth continues

The report released last year highlighted a slight increase in the number of Internet users in the world in 2022, far from the massive increases observed several years before. Unsurprisingly, the trend continued in 2023, with an increase of 1.8% in the number of users. This represents a total of 97 million additional Internet users.

On a global scale, so-called “Northern” countries have a very high adoption rate: 96.8% in North America, 94.5% in Western Europe, and 97.6% in Northern Europe. On the other hand, some regions in Africa show a low adoption rate, especially in Central Africa (32.1%) and East Africa (26.7%).
